BEACON HILL

75 Chestnut - bar side for good wine and upscale bar food

The Paramount - most civil at night, intimate, great steak tips

Figs - try the Isabella pizza

21st Amendment - relaxing place for lunch the day after the date, nice staff, great cd mixes, best on a cold
winter afternoon but still fun in the summer

The Federalist - part of XV Beacon Hotel, it's great place for a drink at the bar or on the comfy couches. If you're
really trying to impress someone make a reservation for dinner
SOUTH END

Stella - if you love white decor, welcoming staff, and delicious Italian food, try this new hot spot on
Washington Street. Reservations recommended unless you're up for a few cocktails at the bar during your wait.

Pho Republique - lively & eclectic atmosphere, fun drinks and great food. A
little loud but worth a stop. Be sure to try the spare ribs

Union - outstanding in both the bar & dinner scene. Make a
reservation if you're hoping to have dinner before 10pm

Franklin Café - perfect place when you don't mind spending an hour with your
date at the bar waiting for a table...as long as the conversation is good, it's worth the wait. If your
date is becoming impatient head to Dish across the street

Metropolis Café - fun atmosphere, friendly staff, great crème brulee

Deluxe Café - casual place for a drink after dinner or cheap eats - beware
you credit card lovers, it only accepts cash!

Aquataine - great wine list, delicious filet au poivre
CHUCKYTOWN

Figs - also located in Beacon Hill. See above for pizza recommendation

NORTH END

Florentine's - great place to meet up for a drink especially in the summer when the full-length windows are open

Fiori - the only restaurant in the North End with rooftop seating. Nice to start out with a drink then enjoy a delicious
Italian dinner. For you meat lovers—the veal is delicious

Carmen's - cozy, romantic restaurant, owned by a young, local North Ender

Lucca - dinner is fantastic but they also have a good bar scene if you're looking for an after dinner drink
SOMERVILLE

Gargoyles on the Square - sit on the bar side. Gracious bartenders, great wine list, upscale bar menu

Dali - enjoy tapas and sangria. Feeling frisky? Bring an extra pair of undies to hang in the restaurant before you leave!
CAMBRIDGE

Harvest - in Harvard Square, outside dining area, fantastic food

Upstairs on the Square - Wild décor and the best wine list ever! Great food
but just as nice to sit at the bar for a cocktail

Cucchi Cucchi - food is outstanding, nice staff. Be
prepared to enjoy a long, lingering dinner
WATERFRONT

Boston Harbor Hotel - check out Friday night outdoor movies during the summer.

Joe's - always a good place to meet for a drink then walk to the North End for dinner
DOWNTOWN CROSSING

Silvertone's - great for a drink or delicious comfort food

West Street Grille - good place to meet for a drink or dinner after work
OTHER IDEAS

Charles River - lots to do on the rivergrab a bottle of wine (discreetly), some snacks and a
blanket; meet up for rollerblading, biking or running; rent kayaks at
Charles River Canoe & Kayak

Hatch Shell/Esplanade - free concerts, Friday night movies

Tennis - great afternoon date. Free courts on the Boston Common or the Charles. Walk over to the
Parish Café for après-tennis drinks
